Counselor Profile: Stephanie Ferguson; MSE, LPC, NCC, CCMHC

As human beings we need connection with others, yet so often our negative experiences cause us to fear and withdraw from vital connections. Connecting with and helping others is my passion. My genuine, empathetic and relatable personality helps to build trust among clients, while providing a safe, compassionate and understanding space where people are heard and seen. Through my own struggles, I understand how difficult it is to express your deepest thoughts, feelings and fears; I want you to know I am there with you every step of the way. You are not alone.

Opening ourselves to the emotions we struggle with can be difficult and uncomfortable. Emotions often make us feel vulnerable, a feeling which society tells us is a sign of weakness. I don’t agree with that. I believe the greatest strength and growth you will experience is when you lean into the vulnerability and challenge yourself.

At the end of the day, we are all just doing the best we can with what we have. I am a strong believer that knowledge is a powerful tool in therapy and will help empower you in your daily life. I will help you gain a better understanding of your symptoms, assist you of finding your true self, and help you to develop tools and skills that work for you.

I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples and families struggling with issues related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, and depression. I also have special passions for working with military service members and their families, as well as those in the LGBTQ community.

I have earned a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling, from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh. I am also a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
